How to fix it If however your device is stuck on system recovery mode, here’s how you can easily get it out of system recovery. The process is slightly different for different Android devices so you should check your device’s manual before attempting this process. Step 1: Power off the device and just to be sure, take out the battery to ensure that the device is fully turned off. I understand your doubts - it took me a while to realize that this wasn't something with a software fix as well. Unfortunately we have seen a LOT of these cases, usually with significant spikes corresponding with the release of updates (7.1, 7.1.2, monthly security patches, and now 8.0). Taken from the samples in this thread, sure, it looks like the common denominator is the 8.0 update. Having seen a much large sample size on this forum (and others) over the past 8 months or so, though, the common factor is undeniably the hardware.
In these cases, the hardware would have called a failure sooner rather than later even without installing an update; the stress of installing an update just happened to be enough to cause failing hardware to fail the rest of the way. My nexus 6P is also stuck in a boot loop. I am sorry to say but nexus is both a product of Google and Huawei; both DENY customer service. My manufacturer's warranty just expired 2 days ago. I also had a boot loop 4 days before but I researched and did a factory reset.After this I contacted google and they told that if I face this problem again they will fix the phone.

That points at a variable outside of the software stack. If it were truly a software problem then there should also be a software fix. No one has been able to correct the bootloop problem with a purely software approach, even after countless factory resets, OTA sideloading, and factory image flashes - even flashing older versions of the OS (which would not have the supposed software defect) still did not revive the affected devices. Again, that suggests that it's not a hardware problem. Some users have been able to temporarily boot their phones after either applying heat or cold, causing slight physical changes in the hardware but not changing the software at all. A more long-term workaround has been found through flashing modified firmware to intentionally disable four of the eight processor cores. The thought is that the more powerful cores of the SD810 SoC generate too much heat, weakening their connections to the motherboard.
Disabling these cores forces the phone to run solely on the more power- and thermal-efficient 'little' cores which do not generate the excessive heat that causes the big cores to fail. Again, it's a hardware problem. It's easy to anecdotally point to the software update as the only thing that has changed since before the bootloop occurred, but that just doesn't hold up when you look at the other bootloop cases (and still-functioning 6Ps). At any rate, the best way forward would be for you to contact Google Support to inquire about a repair or replacement: I sincerely hope that they will be able to help you.

But the question is why is it happening to nexus devices only? I haven't heard of this problem with other android devices. Intrestingly many of these 'bootloop' complaints have come from people whose warranty has just expired.
Does it mean that the nexus shelf life is shaky after one year? Google needs to take some responsibility for the hardware failure especially if many people are experiencing the problem.
John Bowdre, 13:04 น. Upgraded to Android 8.0 and after that a week later in ran into this issue of bootloop. Unfortunately I am 7 months outside of the warranty. I am pissed off at the poor quality of a flagship Nexus device that does not even last 2 years.

John's post above explains the most likely scenario for the current hardware failures being experienced both with the 5X and 6P 'phones and as Google supplies the software and not the hardware, once the retailer's warranty has expired, it is normal for the next port of call to be the manufacturer.

Unfortunately in the case of the 6P, Huawei is sticking firmly to its own one year manufacturer's warranty that covers latent hardware manufacturing defects and about that we can do nothing as it is their prerogative. There is a difference between Google operating vs how Amazon, Flipkart operates. Amazon/Flipkart don't go around advertising the phones that they sell/sold. Neither did Amazon/Flipkart lend the Nexus logo (Google Trademark). There is a difference here. And when the manufacturing company refuses to even address the issue, even with an additional cost (since it is out of warranty), then there is something not good both from the manufacturing company (Huawei in this case) & the company backing it/partnering with it (Google in this case).
Things have to be addressed if you want to gain customer satisfaction and if you want the customers to come back to you. Unfortunately, Google has promoted this Huawei product and taking a 'Simply pointing fingers at Huawei and standing with folded arms' approach will not appease customers. If the manufacturer refuses to even address the issue by addressing the issue by taking additional money (since it is out of coverage), then we as customers lose trust with any kind of partnership @Google enters into be it Huawei or LG/HTC (For the Pixel phones). I dread to think that I have a Pixel device that is going to be a year old and already it is showing signs of freezes/hangs after the Android Oreo update. Will Google throw up its arms pointing to HTC this time?
Naturally, as a Nexus/Pixel user myself, I'm empathic with anyone finding themselves stuck between two stools as I've been there myself many times, which is one reason I enjoy helping out on the forums. One thing I have definitely learned is to research all aspects of a a product and after sales service prior to spending my hard-earned cash on any expensive item. I also read all the warranty documentation that accompanies a product before using it, unlike some who dive straight into the box and throw the paperwork to one side. I got my phone only Aug. 1 2017 and since Android 8 update I've the same boot-loop and huge battery drain issues. I finally replaced the battery via a phone repair shop on Monday, Nov.6. So far so good.

Though I've noticed that this phone does drain the battery fast. It usually requires a charge boost during the day. Which is fine by me. Just not the CRAZINESS I witnessed in the past week. Going from 100% to crash f in 10mins.
